British Columbia invited professionals and entrepreneurs
The province conducted two immigration draws at once.
On March 30, British Columbia held two draws for the provincial immigration program candidates: workers, graduates, and entrepreneurs. The total number of invitations was 223.
216 people received invitations in the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered with Express Entry);
- International Graduate (including those registered with Express Entry).
The invitations were distributed as follows:
- tech workers — 165 invitations;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 23 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 23 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
Technical specialists had to score 85 points in the evaluation system, and representatives of other professions had to score 60. Compared to the previous draw, which was held on March 14, the score for technicians rose by 2 points, for others it remained the same.
British Columbia awards points for work experience, language skills, education, employer's location in the province, and the wage offered. You must also have a job offer.
