Another regular-season BC selection
Immigration draw for different categories of applicants.
On January 23, the Province of British Columbia held an immigration screening among candidates in several areas. A total of up to 220 invitations were sent.
The 79 invitations were distributed among applicants in the following categories:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 120;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score 120;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — minimum score 98.
The previous such drawing was held on January 10, and since then the pass rate for entry level and semi-skilled professionals has dropped slightly.
Some 141 more invitations were received by candidates from in-demand professions — the full list can be viewed here. Some of them were also registered in the Express Entry system:
- early childhood educators and assistant educators — 66 invitations;
- specialists in the field of construction — 34 invitations;
- health professionals — 36 invitations;
- veterinarians and animal and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
The minimum score for these applicants was only 60, except for construction specialists — they traditionally need to score 75 points. The previous target selection was held on January 16 with similar threshold scores.
