The Canadian passport ranked 8th among the strongest in the world. 185 visa-free countries are open for Canadian citizens. In addition, low-cost flights for only 170 Canadian dollars from Canada to Europe are promised in the summer.

Statistics Canada analyzed which items Canadians spent more money on in 2022. Fuel came first, followed by cars, food, gardening and home improvement supplies, and clothing. The least of all expenses were for the purchase of household appliances, utensils, and furniture.

One of the main spending for immigrants is housing. It's expensive in major Canadian cities. But there're places where renting or buying real estate is cheaper.

Wage and work in Canada

Canada raises the minimum wage every year. However, its amount varies by province. As of early 2023, the minimum wage is between 13 and 16 Canadian dollars per hour. Apart from the northern territories, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario pay the most.

The country is testing a 4-day work week. So far, the results show that employees who work 4 days are less likely to quit and truant, but become more productive. But for many workers, the wage is still more important than a work schedule.
