Support centeres are opening in Canada. What kind of help will they provide?

Four experimental family connection centres sponsored by local organizations will open in the spring of 2023.

According to an acute problem in relationships and the integration of special children, the British Columbia government will open 4 pilot family support centres in the spring of 2023.

The centres will provide therapeutic care for children diagnosed with autism, but they will also present services to children, youth and their families based on unique needs.

There are plans to introduce such support services:

  • speech therapy;
  • physiotherapy;
  • work with a psychologist;
  • occupational therapy;
  • educational and other important activities.

Experienced specialists, experts and practitioners will participate in the centres. The project was developed together with indigenous peoples.

At the same time, organizers plan to hold individual consultations with parents and adoptive parents whose children have autism, Down syndrome or other neurological disorders.
