Two draws in Ontario for healthcare and tech specialists

The province held them a few days apart.

The province of Ontario held two new immigration draws. They were under two streams of the provincial immigration program. A total of 2,513 people were selected.

On January 31, 611 foreign workers were invited who scored 53 points or higher on the evaluation system and had one of the priority medical and technical occupations. The passing score in this draw was very high compared to previous ones. For example, in the draw on January 10, the minimum score was only 35.

In this stream, candidates score points for their occupation, wage offered, earnings history, language skills, employer location, and other factors. It is mandatory to get a job offer in Ontario.

On February 2, the province held another draw, this time for the Human Capital Priorities stream, which is for in-demand skilled workers. The stream functions through the Express Entry system.

1,127 invitations were sent to professionals with technical occupations who scored between 481 and 489 on the Comprehensive Ranking System. Another 775 invitations were sent to candidates with scores between 476 and 489 and health occupations.
