The province of Ontario invites IT professionals
About 1,000 candidates were selected in a new drawing.
On December 19, Ontario held a new draw under the provincial immigration program. It was a special draw for tech professionals who applied for the Human Capital Priorities stream.
Invitations were sent to 936 candidates. They needed to score between 484 and 490 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System, as well as have work experience in one of the following occupations:
- data specialists;
- programmers and designers;
- programmers and computer systems developers;
- programmers and software developers;
- web developers and programmers;
- web designers;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- computer engineers.
The previous draw for tech workers was on September 28. The minimum passing score was 12 points higher.
The Human Capital Priority stream is designed to select candidates in demand in the labour market. Each draw has different occupational requirements.
To participate in the stream, applicants must be registered in the Express Entry system, which the Government of Canada uses to issue invitations under federal immigration programs. You must meet the requirements of one of these programs:
