Province of Ontario invited specialists after a break
In recent months, the region has invited candidates from other streams.
On January 10, the province of Ontario held a draw under its immigration program. A total of 404 invitations were sent out for the Foreign Worker stream.
402 of these invitations were sent in the general draw to candidates who scored 35 points or higher and had a particular occupation.
The list included:
- user support specialists;
- industrial engineers and technologists;
- supervisors in various fields;
- drivers;
- welders;
- electricians;
- metallurgists;
- plumbers;
- carpenters;
- and other trades and technical specialists.
For a complete list of occupations, see Ontario's official website.
Separately, 2 invitations were sent in a targeted drawing under the Economic Mobility Pathways program for skilled refugees. Passing scores and suitable occupations are not required for refugees.
For the past few months, all of Ontario's Foreign Worker draws have been for refugees only. This is the first draw in a while that has included the rest of the candidates.
