Hockey fans rejoice: Edmonton Oilers on the brink of a historic victory

Fans are celebrating the chance to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993.

Thousands of jubilant Edmonton Oilers fans enthusiastically celebrated their team's victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday. With a score of 5-1 in favor of the Oilers, the team secured a decisive Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final, set to take place on Monday.

Fans gathered both inside Rogers Place and outside, in Moss Pit Square. Supporters in blue, white, and orange jerseys couldn't hide their excitement, cheering and singing loudly to support their team.

Friday's win gave the Oilers a chance to become the first Canadian team since 1993 to bring the Stanley Cup back home. To achieve this, they need to defeat the Panthers in Sunrise, Florida, on Monday.

The celebration has been ongoing for two months, and Edmonton Oilers fans are hopeful that their team can replicate the historic feat of the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs by winning four consecutive games after losing the first three.
