Policemen rescued a bear cub
The Canadian police are on the lookout for the peace of people and animals.
The end of the week brings good news to Canadians: a furry baby was rescued in British Columbia. Canadian police don't just catch criminals. Sometimes public order has to be protected in other ways. For example, catching furry intruders and returning them to a safe environment away from people's homes. In Canada, wild animals are protected by law, so they cannot be maimed or killed unless they pose a threat to humans. And it is up to the gallant police to capture raccoons, coyotes, bears, and wolverines.
On Thursday, citizens in New Westminster discovered a baby bear cub. The cub was lost and wandering the streets in confusion, shocking passersby. It hadn't harmed anyone and police officers feared more for it. In their social networks, they asked city residents not to touch or feed the animal when they met it.
A day later, the police finally found the bear cub and were able to transport it to safety. It turned out to be very heavy, with as many as six police officers carrying it on a stretcher. Now it was sent back into the woods, and the townspeople could sleep well.
