Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada automates processing of applications

Gradually and so far only on one of the programs.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada did not put off realizing all its plans and began to optimize processes. One of the most important parameters of development Mark Miller called automation, including — filing and registration of applications. And according to one of the programs, an important step forward has been made in this direction.

We are talking about the International Experience Canada (IEC) program, it is the Canadian analogue of the famous American Work and Travel program, you can read more about it in our article.

What is it for?

The new tool will help process IEC work permit applications by sorting applications based on their complexity and confirming eligibility for regular applications. Thus, for some applicants, decisions will be made much faster — and automatically. On the one hand, this will relieve some of the Ministry's staff busy processing standard applications, and on the other hand, it will reduce waiting times for applicants.

The ministry expects that automation will eventually help develop and expand the program, and therefore make it easier for youth from around the world to work and travel in Canada.

Separately, the ministry emphasizes that automated processes will remain under control. Employees are committed to conducting regular checks to eliminate errors.
