Canadian region will pay $18,000 to live there

And the region demands almost nothing in return!

The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, SDG for short, have announced a contest in which the winner will receive $1,500 CAD a month for a year for living in the region. In return, the candidate must write posts twice a month about their life in SDG for social media, and occasionally participate in filming and interviews.

SDG is located in the province of Ontario an hour's drive from the Canadian capital of Ottawa and the Montreal metropolis in the province of Quebec. It also borders New York, USA.

Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry describe the perfect candidate as someone who likes adventure, long walks and fun. $1,500 CAD can be spent on renting an apartment, or you can buy your own and pay the mortgage. You can work remotely or get a job with a local company

The County Commission will select only the one candidate it deems most suitable. The requirements for participation are as follows:

  • be over 18 years of age;
  • legally reside in Canada, but not in SDG;
  • intend to live in SDG for at least 12 consecutive months between November 2022 and January 2024;
  • be willing to write two posts a month and participate in shoots, interviews.

You can apply on the official website. You must write a 50-word essay and make a one-minute video about why you should be chosen. Applications will be accepted until November 1, 2022.
