Ontario issues more than 1,000 immigration invitations
Some professionals are very lucky!
On July 20, the province of Ontario held an immigration draw under the Human Capital Priorities stream, which is for in-demand skilled workers. In each draw under this stream, the province changes the list of occupations. This time, technical and healthcare professionals were needed.
Ontario sent 1,061 invitations to candidates who scored between 458 and 462 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System.
902 invitations were received by professionals with technical occupations:
- computer and information systems managers;
- data scientists;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- computer system developers and programmers;
- software engineers and designers;
- software developers and programmers;
- web designers;
- web developers and programmers;
- computer engineers.
159 invitations were given to candidates with professions in health care:
- healthcare managers;
- specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine;
- specialists in surgery;
- general practitioners and family physicians;
- veterinarians;
- dentists;
- optometrists;
- audiologists and speech-language pathologists;
- pharmacists;
- nutritionists and dietitians;
- chiropractors;
- physiotherapists;
- occupational therapists;
- kinesiologists;
- other professional occupations in health diagnosing and treating;
- nursing coordinators and supervisors;
- registered nurses;
- nurse practitioners;
- physician assistants, midwives, and related professions;
- opticians;
- licensed practical nurses;
- paramedics;
- respiratory therapists, perfusionists, and cardiopulmonary technologists;
- animal health technologists and veterinary technicians;
- other technical professions in therapy and assessment;
- denturists;
- dental hygienists and dental therapists;
- dental technologists and technicians;
- medical laboratory technologists;
- medical radiation technologists;
- physician sonographers;
- cardiac technologists and electrophysiologic diagnostic technologists;
- pharmacy technicians;
- other medical technologists and technicians;
- traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists;
- massage therapists;
- other practitioners of natural healing;
- dental and dental laboratory assistants;
- medical laboratory technicians and related technical occupations;
- nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates;
- pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants;
- other assisting occupations in support of health services.
The previous draw for the Human Capital Priorities stream was held on July 6. The minimum score was significantly higher. Ontario awards points for factors such as age, language skills, education, work experience, and so on.
