Manitoba pleased immigration candidates with a new draw
More than 500 people received invitations, including those with in-demand professions.
On July 13, Manitoba held an immigration selection in which 540 people were invited. The draw was both for certain professions and for all candidates.
Applicants from several streams participated in the general draw:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 237 invitations, a minimum score of 661;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 41 invitations, a minimum score of 774;
- International Education Stream — 57 invitations, no minimum score required:
In the same draw, Manitoba invited 205 skilled workers in the province who scored a minimum of 604 points and had occupations in the following sectors:
- health occupations;
- specialized middle management occupations in administrative services, financial and business services, and communication (except broadcasting);
- administrative and financial support and supply chain logistics occupations;
- helpers and labourers and other transport drivers, operators, and labourers.
Of all the invited candidates, 77 were registered in Express Entry.
The province's previous selection was held on June 29. The minimum scores for skilled workers overseas were much lower, and almost the same for other applicants.
In Manitoba's immigration program, points are awarded for language skills, education, age, work experience, connections to the province and to other regions of Canada.
