New draw for in-demand workers from Quebec
Over 1,000 invited candidates again!
Quebec shared the results of its immigration draw, which took place on February 16. The region sent out 1,011 invitations to skilled workers.
The selected candidates had to meet the following requirements:
- score 583 or higher in the Arrima system;
- have one of the appropriate occupations.
This time the list of specialties was as follows:
- technical sales specialists in wholesale trade;
- information systems analysts and consultants;
- user support technicians;
- computer network technicians;
- computer programmers and interactive media developers;
- computer engineers;
- electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians;
- computer and information systems managers;
- graphic designers and illustrators;
- software engineers and designers;
- web developers and programmers;
- web designers;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- information systems testing technicians;
- secondary school teachers;
- elementary school and kindergarten teachers;
- civil engineers;
- civil engineering technologists and technicians;
- electrical and electronics engineers;
- mechanical engineers;
- industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- mechanical engineering technologists and technicians;
- registered nurses;
- licensed practical nurses;
- early childhood educators and assistants;
- nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates.
In Quebec's previous draws, which took place on February 9, the passing score was much higher, but there were no restrictions on occupations.
Quebec is the only province in Canada with its own immigration system, which sets its own criteria for selecting candidates independently of the federal government. In 2023, Quebec intends to approve 52,500 candidates for immigration.
The Arrima system evaluates language skills (primarily French), age, work experience, education, occupation, and availability of a job offer in Quebec.
