Quebec issued more than 1,000 invitations for permanent residence
This time the candidates were lucky to have professions in demand.
The province of Quebec has released the results of the immigration draw for skilled workers, which took place on June 29.
The region invited 1,218 candidates who needed to meet one of the requirements:
- have a job offer outside of Montreal and its suburbs;
- or have an oral French level 7 in the provincial grading system (above average) and have a priority profession.
IT occupations
Candidates with IT professions needed to speak French at level 7, as well as a minimum score of 584 in the Arrima system. The list of eligible professions is as follows:
- computer and information systems managers;
- computer engineers;
- information systems specialists;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- software engineers and designers;
- computer programmers and interactive media developers;
- web designers;
- web developers;
- electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians;
- computer network technicians;
- user support technicians;
- information systems testing technicians;
- graphic arts technicians;
- audio and video recording equipment;
- graphic designers and illustrators.
Other occupations
Also in the selection, Quebec invited candidates with some other majors who also knew French at level 7 and scored 592 in Arrima. The list of majors:
- civil engineers;
- mechanical engineers;
- electrical and electronics engineers;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- mining engineers;
- civil engineering technologists and technicians;
- mechanical engineering technologists and technicians;
- industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians;
- registered nurses and psychiatric nurses;
- licensed practical nurses;
- nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates;
- secondary school teachers;
- elementary school and kindergarten teachers;
- early childhood educators and assistants.
The previous selection in Quebec was held on June 22, in which candidates of all professions were invited.
