New round of invitations in Manitoba for professionals and alumni
Passing scores have gone up significantly.
On May 18, the province of Manitoba held an immigration drawing in which 526 people were invited. There was a general draw for all applicants and a targeted one for certain professions.
Applicants from several streams participated in the general selection process:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 191 invitations, a minimum score of 701;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 27 invitations, a minimum score of 721;
- international education stream — 21 invitations, no minimum score required:
The targeted selections included 287 skilled workers in Manitoba who scored 610 and had the following occupations:
Of the total invitations issued, 225 were sent to candidates with an Express Entry profile.
The previous drawing in Manitoba was held on May 4. Passing scores in all categories were lower. The province awards points for education, language skills, age, work experience, and connections to the region and other regions of Canada.
