Manitoba held the first screening for Ukrainians in 2024

And sent out quite a few invitations.

On January 30, the province of Manitoba held a special immigration drawing for citizens of Ukraine. A total of 117 people received invitations.

To receive an invitation, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • to be a citizen of Ukraine;
  • pass a language test with a CLB score of 4 or higher;
  • have a connection to Manitoba (community references, relatives, previous work or study in the province);
  • have a valid language test;
  • to score at least 60 points;
  • meet the requirements of the flow of skilled professionals from abroad, including enough money to relocate.

That said, provincial officials remind that CUAET holders who have been working in Manitoba for at least six months in any occupation are eligible to apply under the Manitoba Skilled Worker stream. Drawings are held for such applicants on a regular basis — for example, most recently on Jan. 11 and Jan. 25.

Previously, Manitoba organized the selection for Ukrainians December 29. At that time, the number of invitations was a little smaller.

We will continue to follow the history of selections in Manitoba to keep you up to date with the most current information.
