British Columbia has invited specialists in high-demand professions
The province has conducted another targeted screening.
On Dec. 5, British Columbia sent 193 invitations to skilled workers and international graduates as part of its provincial immigration program.
A portion of the applicants were registered in the federal Express Entry system.
Invitations were distributed among the following professions:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants — 46 invitations;
- Specialists in Construction — 31 invitations;
- Health Professionals — 24 invitations;
- Tech Workers — 92 invitations.
As in the November 21 selections, tech workers needed 94 points, construction workers needed 75 points, and the passing score for health care workers and educators was kept at 60 points. In addition to the targeted selections, the province also holds general drawings, the most recent of which was held on Nov. 28.
Points in British Columbia are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
