Manitoba has a new immigration screening process in place
The minimum scores have dropped slightly.
Manitoba reported for another immigration screening that took place on Sept. 21. Only 620 people received invitations, 59 of whom were Express Entry registered candidates.
Some of the candidates were selected irrespective of their profession:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 239 invitations, minimum score of 631;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 27 invitations, minimum score of 723;
- International Education Stream — 56 invitations, no minimum score required:
A separate selection process was held for representatives of in-demand professions. A total of 298 such invitations were sent with a minimum acceptable score of 612 for these candidates and the following professions:
- Sales and service representatives and other customer and personal services occupations;
- Sales and service support occupations.
Manitoba awards points for education, language skills, work experience, age, ties to the province and other regions of Canada.
Last year's Manitoba selection was held September 7. Scores for skilled workers in Manitoba were down 9 points and for overseas workers were down 1 point.
