Manitoba had the highest-scoring draws
The passing scores for one category of candidates were a record for the past three years.
On June 1, the province of Manitoba held an immigration draw in which 589 applicants were selected. The draw was for all applicants as well as for certain professions.
Candidates from several streams participated in the overall selection process:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 240 invitations, a minimum score of 669;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 31 invitations, a minimum score of 801;
- international education stream — 56 invitations, no minimum score required:
The targeted selections included 262 skilled workers in Manitoba who scored 607 points and had occupations in the following areas:
- finance and business;
- administrative professions and transportation logistics;
- natural and applied sciences;
- public safety, legal, social, community, and educational services;
- care services, legal and community advocacy.
Of the total number of invitations issued, 214 were sent to candidates with a profile in Express Entry.
The previous drawing in Manitoba was held on May 18. The minimum scores for workers in the province dropped significantly. And workers overseas were unlucky this time — the passing score for them was the highest in the last 3 years. Also on May 25, there was a special selection for citizens of Ukraine.
Manitoba awards points for language skills, education, age, work experience, connections to the province and other regions of Canada.
Keep an eye on the history of provincial draws so you don't miss your chance at immigration.
