Ontario's largest draw for immigration candidates

The province invited more than 1,800 people at a time.

On May 5, the province of Ontario held an immigration drawing under its provincial program. The invitations were sent out to applicants of the Human Capital Priorities stream, which selects in-demand skilled specialists using the Express Entry system.

This time, 1,863 invitations were issued to candidates with technical occupations. They had to score between 475 and 482 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System. This is Ontario's largest selection by number of invitations in recent years.

The previous Human Capital Priorities stream selection was held on March 10, and the minimum scores were slightly higher, ranging from 479 to 489. Points are awarded for factors such as age, language skills, education, work experience, and so on.
