British Columbia invites in-demand specialists
This time the province did not send many invitations.
On April 11, British Columbia again held a targeted draw for candidates who had applied for the provincial immigration program. This time specialists with high-demand occupations were invited.
The total number of invitations is 132. They were received by candidates of the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including those registered in the Express Entry system.
The invitations were distributed as follows:
- tech workers — 99 invitations, passing score 85;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 25 invitations, passing score 60;
- healthcare professionals — 8 invitations, passing score 60.
The previous draw for technicians was on March 30 and for educators and medics it was on April 4. The passing scores remained unchanged.
British Columbia awards points for work experience, language skills, education, employer location, and salary. All applicants must find a job in the province before applying for immigration.
