Three draws in Ontario for candidates with certain occupations
The region sent out about 1,000 invitations at once.
On March 14, the province of Ontario held three immigration draws. Candidates from two streams of the provincial immigration program were selected: international students and foreign workers. The total number of invitations was 908.
Two draws were for international students who graduated from Ontario. In the first drawing, the region selected 606 candidates with tech and healthcare occupations. They had to score at least 70 points on the provincial evaluation system.
In the second drawing, 300 students with trades occupations who scored 74 points or more received invitations. The list of eligible professions for both draws can be seen on the official provincial website.
Points are awarded for work experience in Ontario, language skills, occupation, wage offered in the province, earnings history, education level and field, location of institution and employer in Ontario. You must have a job offer to apply.
The previous draw for graduates was held on January 24. There the participants had to score 82 points.
The province of Ontario held its third drawing for foreign workers, to whom 2 invitations were sent. This drawing was under the Economic Mobility Pathways Program, which is designed for skilled refugees. The previous draw for workers was held on January 24, also for refugees.
