The province of Ontario pleased candidates with two draws

One of the streams has not had a drawing for more than 6 months.

On January 24, the province of Ontario held two immigration draws. Candidates from two streams of the provincial immigration program were selected: university graduates and foreign professionals. A total of 622 people received invitations.

Most of them, 620 candidates, were international students who had graduated from a university in Ontario. They had to score a minimum of 82 on the provincial evaluation system.

Points are awarded for factors such as occupation, wage offered in the province, work experience in Ontario, earnings history, level and field of education, language ability, location of educational institution, and location of the employer in Ontario. A job offer is required to apply.

The last time Ontario had a draw for students was on June 29, and the passing score was 8 points lower. Prior to that, rounds of invitations were held regularly.

2 more invitations were sent to foreign workers. This was a draw under the Economic Mobility Pathways Program for skilled refugees.

The previous draw for workers took place on January 10. Then invitations were sent to both refugees and all other candidates.

We recommend following Ontario's draw history to increase your chances of being invited.
