British Columbia ended January with another draw
The province invited candidates with in-demand occupations.
On January 31, British Columbia held a new targeted draw under the provincial immigration program. A total of 284 invitations were sent.
The drawing included skilled workers and international graduates with the following occupations:
- tech professionals — 243 invitations;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 18 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 18 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
Technicians needed a minimum score of 85 on the evaluation system, and all others needed a minimum of 60. B.C. assigns points for education, language skills, work experience, the location of the employer in the province, and the wage offered. A job offer in B.C. is also needed.
The previous draw for technicians was held on January 10. The passing score dropped by 5 points. For the other candidates, there was a draw on January 24. The minimum points have not changed.
