Second draw in a week in Ontario
The province invited workers with in-demand professions.
On January 13, the province of Ontario held another draw under the provincial immigration program. Just 3 days earlier, the region had a draw for foreign workers, and this time 1,252 people were invited among skilled trades workers.
The selected candidates scored between 336 and 506 on the Comprehensive Ranking System. This is significantly higher than in the last Skilled Trades round of invitations, which took place on September 29, 2022.
In addition to a passing score, participants had to have one of the following occupations:
- contractors and supervisors:
- contractors and supervisors of heavy equipment operators;
- supervisors in printing;
- supervisors of surface transport operators;
- makers of tools and dies;
- sheet metal workers;
- boilers;
- manufacturers and installers of metal and sheet metal structures;
- ironworkers;
- welders and machine operators;
- electricians;
- industrial electricians;
- workers in the maintenance of power lines and cables;
- installers and repairers of telecommunications lines and cables;
- plumbers;
- steam and sprinkler installers, pipefitters;
- plotters;
- bricklayers;
- isolators;
- construction millers and industrial mechanics;
- heavy equipment mechanics;
- heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning mechanics;
- railway carmen/women;
- aviation mechanics and inspectors;
- lift builders and mechanics;
- automotive service technicians, repair mechanics;
- electromechanics;
- mechanics of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and related equipment;
- crane operators;
- concrete finishers;
- tilers;
- plasterers, drywall installers, finishers, and tilers;
- roofers and tile workers;
- glaziers;
- painters and decorators;
- contractors and supervisors in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and gardening;
- energy engineers and power system operators.
