Manitoba held two immigration draws at once
One was general, and the other was targeted at citizens of one country.
On September 14 and 15, Manitoba held two immigration draws under the provincial immigration program. In two days, the region sent out 445 invitations.
On September 14, there was a special draw for citizens of Ukraine, in which the province chose 9 candidates. They had to meet the following requirements:
- have a minimum of CLB 4 language level, proved by a language test;
- have connections to Manitoba (e.g. relatives, friends, previous employment or studies in the province).
The previous draw for Ukrainians took place on July 18, conditions have not changed.
Manitoba held a general draw on September 15 in which it selected 436 skilled workers and international graduates. The invitations and passing scores were distributed as follows:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 388 invitations, a minimum score of 613;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 7 invitations, a minimum score of 726;
- International Educational Stream — 41 invitations, no passing score required.
150 invited candidates were registered in the federal Express Entry system.
Compared to the previous general draw, which took place on September 8, passing scores for skilled workers in Manitoba have been down slightly and for skilled workers overseas have been up significantly.
