B.C. invites even more IT people

This is the second record selection in a row.

On February 15, British Columbia sent 140 invitations to apply for nominations from the province in the provincial immigration program. Luck favoured applicants for the Technical Program, which targets IT workers. The province broke the record for the number of invitations in this stream, which it set in the last drawing.

The drawing was held among the following categories:

The minimum passing score in all categories was 85. This is 5 points higher than the previous drawing, which took place on February 1.

To participate in the Technical Immigration Program, applicants must register with one of B.C.'s immigration streams and receive a job offer in one of 29 eligible occupations. They are also assessed on a number of factors: educational attainment, language skills, work experience, and availability of a job offer.

To increase your chances of receiving an invitation from B.C., we recommend that you keep an eye on history of your passing scores and number of invitations.
