British Columbia held the overall selection
The passing grade went up again.
On December 12, British Columbia held another immigration draw for different categories of applicants. The province sent out a total of up to 197 invitations.
73 of these were distributed among the following categories:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score 116;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 116;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — minimum score of 95.
The passing scores are up slightly from the previous overall selection, which was held November 28.
Another 124 invitations were sent to applicants with in-demand occupations — some applicants were registered in the federal Express Entry system:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants — 46 invitations;
- Specialists in Construction — 31 invitations;
- Healthcare Professionals — 27 invitations;
- other specialties (including veterinarians, zootechnicians and veterinary technicians) — less than 5 invitations.
The minimum score for all applicants invited under the target selection was a traditional 60 points — except for experts in the field of construction, they need to score 75 points to receive an invitation.
British Columbia awards points for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
The province held the previous selection on December 5, and at that time only in-demand professionals were invited.
