British Columbia sent out another batch of invitations
Selections were made for different categories of applicants.
On October 17, British Columbia held a new invitation drawing for its provincial program. A total of up to 157 applicants were selected.
The 104 invitations were distributed among the following categories of applicants:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score 111;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 113;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — minimum score of 91.
Up to 53 more candidates received invitations thanks to their in-demand professions — some of whom were registered in the federal Express Entry system. The minimum score was 60:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants — 31 invitations;
- Healthcare Professionals — 17 invitations;
- other specialties (including veterinarians, zootechnicians and veterinary technicians) — less than 5 invitations.
Points are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
The pass rates in British Columbia are holding steady at the same level. Specialists in high-demand occupations were last invited on October 11, when they also had to cross the 60-point threshold. In the general selection, the previous time held October 4, the minimum scores also remained unchanged.
We will continue to follow the history of immigration selections in British Columbia to stay up to date with the latest information.
