Ontario selects tech workers
New draw for in-demand candidates.
On July 6, the province of Ontario held a new immigration draw under the human capital priorities stream. This stream is for in-demand skilled professionals.
In this drawing, the region selected 748 people who scored between 479 and 485 on the Comprehensive Ranking System and had some technical occupations:
- computer and information systems managers;
- data scientists;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- computer systems developers and programmers;
- software engineers and designers;
- software developers and programmers;
- web designers;
- web developers and programmers;
- computer engineers.
The previous selection for this stream was held on May 8. The minimum scores have gone up slightly. Points are awarded for factors such as language skills, age, education, work experience, and so on.
To apply under the Human capital priorities stream, applicants must create a profile in Express Entry and meet the requirements of one of the federal programs:
