British Columbia held a new round of invitations
More than 200 people will be able to get a permanent residence permit in the province.
On May 16, British Columbia held an immigration draw under the provincial immigration program in which 202 candidates were invited.
162 applicants were selected in the general draw for the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 104;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 107;
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 85.
The remaining 40 candidates received invitations in the target selection for certain professions. They needed to score 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 29 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 11 invitations.
The previous general draw in the province took place on May 2 and the targeted one for educators and medics was on May 9. The passing scores remained unchanged.
British Columbia awards points for work experience, education, language skills, employer location, and salary. You must also find a job in the province before you can apply for immigration.
