British Columbia invites in-demand specialists
The new draw selected candidates from several fields.
On May 9, British Columbia held a targeted draw for those who applied for the provincial immigration program. Luck favorued 155 candidates with in-demand professions.
Invitations were distributed among the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams applicants, including those with an Express Entry profile:
- tech workers — 93 invitations;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 34 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 23 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
Technicians needed to score 90 points on the scoring system, and other professionals had to score 60 points. Points were awarded for education, work experience, language skills, employer location, and salary.
The previous target drawing in British Columbia was held on April 25, and the passing score for technicians was the same. For the other professions, there was another selection on May 2, the scores did not change.
We recommend following the history of draws in the province so you don't miss your chance at immigration.
