First May draw from British Columbia
The province has issued more than 170 immigration invitations.
On May 2, British Columbia held an immigration drawing under the provincial immigration program. A total of 176 people were invited.
133 candidates were selected in the general selection for the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 104;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 107;
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 85.
Another 43 candidates were invited in a targeted draw for certain professions. They needed to score 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 22 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 16 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
British Columbia held its previous general draw on April 18, and a target one on April 25. The passing scores remained unchanged.
British Columbia awards points for education, work experience, language skills, employer location, and wage. You must also find a job in the province before applying for immigration.
