British Columbia held another round of invitations
More than 200 people will be able to get a Canadian permanent residence permit.
On April 18, British Columbia held another draw under the provincial immigration program. 208 people received invitations.
158 candidates were selected in the general drawing for the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 104;
- International Graduate (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — a minimum score of 107;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 85.
Another 50 people received invitations in a target draw for certain occupations. They had to score 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 29 invitations;
- health care professionals — 16 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
British Columbia holds draws for different categories of candidates every week. The previous general draw was on April 4, and the passing scores changed only slightly. The previous target draw was on April 11, and the scores remained the same.
The province awards points for factors such as language skills, work experience, education, employer location, and salary. It is also necessary to find a job in the province before applying for immigration.
