British Columbia invites IT professionals again
The province called for fewer candidates than last time.
On January 18, British Columbia sent 91 invitations to apply for nominations from the province under the provincial immigration program. Luck favoured candidates for the Technical Program, which is designed for IT workers.
The drawing was held among the following categories:
- skilled workers;
- graduates;
- skilled workers who applied through Express Entry;
- graduates who applied through Express Entry.
The minimum passing score in all categories was 80. It was unchanged from the previous drawing, which took place on January 4.
To participate in the Technical Immigration Program, applicants must register with one of B.C.'s immigration streams and receive a job offer in one of 29 eligible occupations. They are also assessed on a number of factors: educational attainment, language skills, work experience, and availability of a job offer.
To increase your chances of receiving an invitation from B.C., we recommend that you keep an eye on history of your passing scores and number of invitations.
