Ontario held a selection process for four streams at once

The province invited about 1,000 candidates at a time.

On September 21, the Ontario Provincial Immigration Program sent 995 invitations to candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The drawing was held among foreign professionals and graduates of Canadian universities.

Applicants must get a job offer from an Ontario employer in order to apply. Applicants are also evaluated on factors like the salary offered, location of the employer, work experience in Canada and the demand for the profession in the labour market.

The number of invitations and passing scores in the "Expression of Interest" system were distributed as follows:

The passing scores have changed slightly from the previous selection, which took place on July 13.

The province has held a separate draw for participants in the regional immigration pilot designed to meet the labour needs of small and rural municipalities. You can use it to immigrate to one of Ontario's three boroughs:

  • Chatham-Kent;
  • Cornwall;
  • Quint West/Belleville.

Under the regional pilot, the invitations were distributed as follows:

  • foreign specialists — 36 invitations;
  • graduates of Canadian universities — 30 invitations.

To increase your chances of receiving an invitation from Ontario, keep an eye on history of immigration selections.
