British Columbia invites more candidates to immigrate
With each selection, the number of invitations increases and passing grades decrease.
On August 31, B.C.'s immigration program sent 488 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination.
467 candidates were selected in streams for skilled workers, Canadian graduates and low— and mid-skilled professionals. The minimum passing scores were distributed as follows:
- skilled workers — 90;
- Canadian graduates — 77;
- low and medium skilled workers — 69;
- skilled workers with selection through Express Entry — 86;
- Canadian graduates with selection through Express Entry — 75.
B.C. made a separate selection for candidates with the following occupations:
Professionals in these fields received 21 invitations, the minimum passing score for all categories was 106.
Passing scores in the last draw were down slightly compared to the previous selection, which took place on August 17.
