Manitoba holds record immigration screening

The province has invited more than 1,000 specialists from abroad.

On June 28, Manitoba's immigration program sent out 1,017 invitations to apply for nomination from the province, setting an absolute record among all previous provincial selections. The invitations went to qualified specialists from overseas who had an active profile in the Express Entry system.

Manitoba draws are usually held for three streams at once: qualified professionals in Manitoba, graduates of Canadian universities and qualified professionals abroad. The latter usually receive between 5 and 50 invitations.

Applicants who received invitations in the new selection scored from 565 points on the Expression of Interest system — 138 points lower than in the previous drawing for all streams, which took place on June 17.

On May 27 this year, Manitoba had already held a specialist overseas drawing in which 404 candidates were invited with a minimum score of 601. This was the first of its kind and has been a record-breaking draw to date.

Keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations to increase your chances of immigration.
