Manitoba has conducted an atypical immigration prank
The province is targeting candidates from abroad.
On May 27, Manitoba's immigration program sent 404 invitations to candidates to apply for nomination from the province. Selection was among skilled workers overseas.
The draw is notable because Manitoba typically has three streams: qualified Manitobans, graduates from Canadian universities and qualified overseas professionals. With overseas professionals typically receiving between 5 and 50 invitations, the May 27 selection was a record-breaking event.
Candidates who received invitations scored between 601 points on the "Expression of Interest" system — down 102 points from the previous selection, which took place on May 25.
Keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations to increase your chances of immigration.
