B.C. has held an immigration raffle among I.T. workers
The province continues to prioritize IT professionals.
On June 1, BC sent out 68 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The selection was for the Tech Program, which is designed for IT workers.
Selection was made among the following categories:
- skilled workers;
- international graduates;
- skilled workers who go through one of the federal programs through Express Entry;
- international graduates who are in one of the federal programs through Express Entry.
The minimum passing score in all categories was 80 — unchanged from the previous selection held on May 18.
To participate in the Technical Immigration Program, applicants must register with one of British Columbia's immigration streams and have a valid job offer in one of 29 eligible occupations.
Candidates are assessed and scored to determine whether they are eligible to apply for this round of selection. The evaluation is based on a number of factors: education level, language skills, work experience and availability of a job offer.
