British Columbia invites for permanent residence

What professions were the most in demand this time around?

On December 19, British Columbia held its weekly invitation draw. This time the selection was made among candidates with in-demand professions.

A total of 230 successful applicants were invited across the streams for skilled workers and foreign graduates. Some of them were registered in the Express Entry system.

Invitations were extended to the following professions:

The passing scores for educators, healthcare workers and the construction sector have remained unchanged since the last screening held a week ago, December 12. Professionals in the construction sector needed to cross the 75-point threshold, while the others needed to cross the 60-point threshold.

But technicians were invited for the last time December 5 as part of a targeted drawing. And during these two weeks the passing score for them increased and amounted to 95 points.

Points in British Columbia are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
