The province sent out invitations in an unusual way.

Saskatchewan held several immigration selections on August 16, all of which were only for applicants from certain countries and with certain occupations. The total number of invitations was 642.

All drawings invited applicants from two streams who scored 60 points in the Saskatchewan scoring system:

For each selection, there was a different list of eligible occupations.

Residents of India

Candidates residing in India received the most invitations:

  • Saskatchewan Express Entry — 224 invitations;
  • Occupations In-Demand — 207 invitations.

Applicants from both streams needed to have one of 25 occupations. Most of these were managerial occupations, such as managers in various fields, supervisors, and contractors. Also, the list included were skilled workers such as technologists, administrators, estimators, and some trades professions such as plumbers, welders, crane operators, and others.

Residents of Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine

Another part of the invitations was sent to candidates from Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ukraine:

  • Saskatchewan Express Entry — 98 invitations;
  • Occupations In-Demand — 78 invitations.

The list of professions was different for these specialists. It included 70 occupations: managers in various fields, specialists in finance, science, healthcare, and IT, administrative workers, and other skilled professions.

Residents of Ireland

The smallest number of selected candidates was among the residents of Ireland:

  • Saskatchewan Express Entry — 23 invitations;
  • Occupations In-Demand — 12 invitations.

The list of 28 occupations included financial officers, IT specialists, teachers, researchers, academics, managers, and other skilled professionals.

The full list of occupations in each selection can be viewed on the official website of Saskatchewan. This is the first selection in which the province is inviting candidates from specific countries. In the past, Saskatchewan has occasionally held separate draws for Ukrainian nationals as a supportive measure.

The previous Saskatchewan draw was held on June 8. Candidates from all countries were invited to apply, and the passing scores were slightly higher. In the provincial scoring system, points are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, age, ties to the province, and similar factors.
