There have never been draws like this in Saskatchewan before
The province sent out invitations in an unusual way.
Saskatchewan held several immigration selections on August 16, all of which were only for applicants from certain countries and with certain occupations. The total number of invitations was 642.
All drawings invited applicants from two streams who scored 60 points in the Saskatchewan scoring system:
For each selection, there was a different list of eligible occupations.
Residents of India
Candidates residing in India received the most invitations:
- Saskatchewan Express Entry — 224 invitations;
- Occupations In-Demand — 207 invitations.
Applicants from both streams needed to have one of 25 occupations. Most of these were managerial occupations, such as managers in various fields, supervisors, and contractors. Also, the list included were skilled workers such as technologists, administrators, estimators, and some trades professions such as plumbers, welders, crane operators, and others.
