More than 170 invitations for permanent residence in British Columbia

This is the first time the province has lowered the passing score for one category of candidates.

On July 18, British Columbia issued 172 invitations to immigration applicants. These included skilled workers, and international graduates, including those registered in the Express Entry system.

This time the drawing was targeted. This means that only specialists in demand in the province were invited:

Technicians needed to score 88 points in the provincial assessment system. This is 2 points lower than usual. Other candidates needed 60. British Columbia awards points for education, language skills, work experience, employer location, and salary.

The province held the last targeted selection on July 5, and later on July 11, a general draw was held for candidates with all professions.

Follow the history of British Columbia's draws to increase your chances of immigration.
