Ontario invites 3,333 candidates to immigrate

Unusual immigration draws took place on May 8 and 9.

The province of Ontario held new draws for immigration applicants. Drawings were held for applicants in three streams: Human Capital Priorities, Foreign Workers, and International Students. They all had to have certain occupations. In total, the region sent out 3,333 invitations.

Human capital priorities

On May 8, there was a selection for the Human Capital Priorities stream candidates. Invitations were extended to 2,349 people with health professions who scored between 427 and 482 in the Comprehensive Ranking System. In addition to the in-demand profession, candidates need to have a profile in the Express Entry system.

The previous drawing for this stream was held on May 5, and the passing scores were much higher. Points are awarded for language skills, education, age, work experience, and other factors.

Foreign workers

On May 9, Ontario held a draw for foreign workers. Among them, 400 applicants were selected who scored 43 points or higher on the provincial evaluation system and found work in the province in healthcare or technology. The previous selection was held on April 4 but it invited only refugees.

International students

The drawing for students who graduated in Ontario was also held on May 9. In it, 584 applicants with scores of 62 or higher received invitations. The list of occupations also included majors in healthcare and technology. The earlier drawing for students was on March 14, and the new selection lowered the passing score.
