British Columbia held a small draw

This time, fewer candidates were invited than usual.

On December 20, another draw was held under British Columbia's provincial immigration program. It was a targeted drawing for in-demand professionals. The province sent out a total of 173 invitations.

The drawing was for skilled workers and international graduates of Canadian universities with the following occupations:

Tech workers needed to score a minimum of 90 points, and others needed to score 60. B.C. awards points for work experience, education, language skills, wage offered, and employer's location. Candidates must have a job offer in the province.

The previous targeted drawing in B.C. was on December 6. The passing score for technicians decreased by 5 points, while for the other occupations it remained unchanged.

Normally B.C. also holds targeted draws for orderlies and veterinarians, but this time they were not invited.
