The province invited 348 people.

On June 30, 2022, the Province of Manitoba sent out 348 letters inviting people to apply for a provincial nomination and increasing the likelihood of becoming a permanent resident of Canada.

  • 79 invitations were extended to Manitoba graduates.
  • 83 invitations were extended to skilled professionals located abroad. They were selected through the provincial Strategic Recruitment Initiative or the Express Entry system pool. The minimum passing score for them was 711.
  • 186 invitations were extended to skilled professionals who had already worked in Manitoba and were willing to stay with the same employer. They had a higher minimum passing score of 773.

Fifty-nine of those invited were registered in Express Entry.

The province of Manitoba uses its expression of interest system to evaluate candidates. It requires you to score as many points as possible (maximum 1,000). They are awarded for:

  • knowledge of English and French;
  • age (the maximum score, 75, goes to candidates 21 to 45 years old);
  • work experience;
  • work and/or study experience in Manitoba;
  • license to work in Manitoba;
  • education;
  • having relatives and friends in Manitoba;
  • intention is to live outside of Winnipeg.

The province has many other immigration streams, for example for degree holders or for farmers. The previous selection invited Ukrainians with ties to the province.

In total, Manitoba has selected 3,176 candidates for nomination this year. Watch selection history to increase your chances of getting invited.
