New selection in Manitoba
The Canadian province invited people through three programs at once.
On February 24, invitations were sent out to three programs:
-
Skilled Workers in Manitoba;
-
Skilled Workers Overseas;
-
International Education Stream.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba is a stream for qualified people who are already working in Manitoba and have been offered full-time, long-term employment in Manitoba. This time, 206 people were invited by stream. The minimum score was 612.
Skilled Workers Overseas is a program for professionals who have not yet come to Manitoba but can demonstrate ties to the province:
-
having a relative or friend living there for at least a year;
-
or an educational institution completed there;
-
or a successful work experience in Manitoba;
-
or an invitation to work.
This time there were 39 nominees selected through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, that is, those whose skills the province is interested in. The lowest score among the selected candidates was 685.
The third stream, International Education, is for graduates of local universities and is divided into three categories: just graduates of universities, graduates of master's and doctoral programs, and graduates who want to do business in Manitoba. There's no information on which categories the Feb. 24 nominees were chosen from. It is stated only that 33 people received invitations.
A total of 278 candidates were nominated from the province of Manitoba in this selection. Of these, 66 were previously registered in the Express Entry program and provided a valid applicant ID and confirmation code.
