B.C. invites record-low number of IT workers
Last year's immigration draw was the smallest for 2021.
On September 7, the British Columbia Immigration Programme issued 34 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. Selection was for the Technical Program, which is for IT workers.
The drawing was held among the following categories:
- skilled workers;
- graduates;
- skilled workers who applied through Express Entry;
- graduates who applied through Express Entry.
The minimum passing score in all categories was 80 — unchanged from the previous selection held on August 24.
To participate in the Technical Immigration Program, applicants must register with one of British Columbia's immigration streams and have a valid job offer in one of 29 eligible occupations. They are also assessed on a number of factors: level of education, language skills, work experience and availability of a job offer.
To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation from BC, we recommend keeping an eye on history of pass scores and number of invitations.
